Germantown’s SkyPoint FCU to appear on PBS TV series, ‘Opportunity Knock$’

SkyPoint Federal Credit Union, a community-based financial institution in Germantown, will be featured on season two of the reality television series “Opportunity Knock$” airing on PBS, as the financing institution that provides financing to a family help them overcome their financial challenges and build a better life.
The series is set to air on May 4 at 5:30 p.m., on WETA Metro and May 5 at 10 a.m. on the flagship WETA station.
“Opportunity Knock$” is designed to connect viewers facing financial challenges with coaching and financial services that help families, and by extension their communities, build financial resiliency. As the only designated Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI) in Montgomery County, SkyPoint was selected for its commitment to help its members and the communities it serves, gain access to the financial services needed to achieve financial independence and prosper.
SkyPoint will host a premiere event in Washington on April 17 with guest, Washington Mayor Muriel Bowser. “Opportunity Knock$” coach Jean Chatzky, the featured family SkyPoint provided the financing to, and the show’s producers will also be in attendance. In addition to the episode premiere, the event includes a Q&A session with the family.
