MADISON, Wis. (WKOW) -- Memorial Union Terrace is set to reopen for the 2024 season!

In an announcement Wednesday, Wisconsin Union officials said the sunburst chairs will return on April 17, along with an "Opening of the Terrace Party."

The chairs will be brought out earlier in the day. The party is set to run from 4 to 6 p.m., with an appearance from Bucky, the Wisconsin Spirit Squad, free food, and a DJ performance.

“There’s nothing else like Terrace season in the country, and no Wisconsin summer is complete without a Terrace visit, whether someone lives here or is visiting," said Wisconsin Union Deputy Director Susan Dibbell.

The tradition of the Terrace started in 1929. And now, it welcomes almost 1 million people each year.
