IOC won't require Russians to wear unified neutral uniforms at Paris Olympics

Russian and Belarusian athletes are still subject to restrictions

MOSCOW, April 3. /TASS/. Russian and Belarusian athletes participating in the Paris 2024 Olympics won’t have to use a unified uniform, the International Olympic Committee (IOC) told TASS.

"As AIN athletes will be competing as individuals, they do not require unified uniforms. However, all competition and non-competition wear must adhere to the uniform guidelines outlined in the principles of participation for AINs by the IOC Executive Board on December 8, 2023," the organization said.

The Paris Olympic Games will be held from July 26 to August 11. Russian and Belarusian athletes are still subject to restrictions. In Paris, they will be able to perform only in a neutral status, they will be forbidden to demonstrate any connection with their countries and to participate in team competitions. The Russian authorities consider the IOC's decision to be discriminatory and contrary to Olympic principles.
