Washington boys golf wins in Mt. Pleasant
Demons stay unbeaten IN SEC competitions

MT. PLEASANT — The Southeast Conference boys golf teams met up at Mt. Pleasant Golf and Country Club on Thursday, and it was once again Washington that stood tall.
The Demons shot 148 to win the meet by 22 strokes. Fairfield shot 170 for second. Fort Madison finished third, with 182. Mt. Pleasant took fifth, at 184, and Keokuk was sixth, at 198.
The Demons were led by overall runner-up Roman Roth, who shot 36 on the day. He edged teammates Rajan Roth (37) and Teague Mayer (37) by one stroke.
Fairfield’s Sam Weaton took first place overall. Weaton shot 36 and won the tiebreaker over Roman Roth.
Fairfield’s next golfer down was Drew Myers, who shot a 42. Landon Nodurft finished at 43. Archer Kreuter shot 49. Luke Thornton ended at 51, and Cason Miller shot 54.
Mt. Pleasant’s top scorer on the day was Reece Coffman, who finished out at 40. Merrick Lamm shot 47. Isaac Zihlman finished at 48. Nate Dismang shot 49. Alek Barton ended at 50, and Brody Engle shot 52.
