At a glance, this stately home could be mistaken for the White House. It is, however, across the pond, in a leafy, affluent suburb of London.

Dubbed The Old Garden, the swanky spread is located about 10 miles west of Central London in the affluent town of Richmond, which borders the River Thames. On the market for £29.95 million (or about $37.3 million), the Palladian-style riverfront mansion measures a commodious 20,000 square feet and contains a whopping nine bedroom suites and 10 bathrooms. According to the listing, which is held by Knight Frank, the grand abode is the handiwork of renowned British architect Quinlan Terry, known for his meticulous classical designs, while the sprawling three-acre grounds were designed by award-winning landscape architect Randle Siddeley.

“The Old Garden is a truly exceptional property,” James Williams, head of sales in Knight Frank’s Richmond office, said in a press statement. “Inspired by grand homes of the past, it is elegant and traditional in style, but with the benefit of modern comforts and amenities.”

Faced with French Anstrude limestone, the home is decked out with bespoke hardwood windows and a traditional Welsh slate roof. Inside, high-end finishes include Portland stone and oak floors, as well as a variety of granites and marbles. One of the standout spaces is the entrance hall, with its decorative stone fireplace reminiscent of the Great Hall in Oxfordshire and an elaborate carved ceiling based on the Ara Pacis in Rome (9BC).

The home offers a slew of modern comforts, such as a 40-foot indoor swimming pool, a Klafs steam room, a movie theater, and a wine cellar, to name a few. There’s also a second pool, this one outside, and a championship-size tennis court. Naturally, given the property’s name, there’s a mature private garden with ancient wisteria trees and a large pond that serves as an ideal spot for wildlife watching. If you’re into that kind of thing, that is.

“The care and attention to detail are evident throughout the craftsmanship seen in the property and its lovely grounds, which, at approximately three acres, is extremely rare in this part of London,” added Williams. “The highlight of the home for me is its position on the riverfront, which offers wonderful views over the River Thames and Petersham Meadows.”
