DELHI TOWNSHIP, MI -- Police arrested a woman Saturday morning in connection with a crash that left a child injured and a car on fire. According to WILX, police were called to the area of Holt Road and Eifert Road around 1:49 a.m. for reports of a crash.

Once police were on scene, they discovered an unoccupied vehicle that was on fire. A witness reported seeing a woman and a child flee the area in another vehicle and shortly thereafter, police were called to a nearby home. When police arrived at the residence, they discovered a two-year-old child who was bleeding from the face.

The caller at the second location said a woman dropped off the child and fled the area. Police eventually caught up to the suspect and she was arrested. Police reported that her blood alcohol concentration (BAC) was .13 at the time of her arrest.

The woman is expected to be formally arraigned on charges of child abuse, child endangerment and resisting and obstructing.
