ALBAWABA - An alleged video of the kidnapping of Iraqi TV presenter Dalia Naeem in Baghdad has gone viral on social media. The famous journalist and social media personality was said to be taken by a mysterious group.

According to a medical source in the Iraqi capital, Baghdad, a security force transferred the Iraqi journalist, Dalia Naeem, today to Yarmouk Hospital to get medical treatment after the incident.

In detail, the security source said that the Iraqi TV presenter was subjected to an “operation or kidnapping attempt,” however, no further information was cleared yet.

According to Iraqi media, Dalia Naeem was in very bad condition when she was transferred to the hospital, with photos of her face covered in blood widely circulating online.

A video was shared online allegedly showing the moment when the unknown group threw the TV presenter outside of the car after the alleged kidnapping attempt.

In the alleged footage, Dalia Naeem reportedly appears to leave a beauty center in the Al-Mansour area and come closer to a car next to the driver’s side, before hesitating and going back. In the meantime, a four-wheel-drive vehicle arrives and all the passengers get out of it with the driver.

Dalia Naeem is then reportedly seen heading herself to the "kidnappers' car," which quickly leaves the place. However, the security source explained that investigations into the incident have not yet been completed, but the initial probe shows the "kidnappers" decided to throw her from the car and she sustained several injuries.

The video caused a state of shock and confusion among the Iraqi society, and some doubted its reality, despite the presence of a picture confirming that Naeem had been beaten.

Many activists called for the arrest of the attackers if the news was true and the imposition of severe punishments against them, however, they also asked to punish Naeem if she fabricated the news and only wanted to make the trend on social media.
