Bruce Springsteen made a triumphant return to the stage as he resumed his long-awaited tour on Tuesday night but some fans took notice of his apparent resemblance to Tilda Swinton.
“Absolutely thought this was Tilda Swinton in a new role where she plays a wrestler.” a fan wrote on X alongside a shocking photo of the musician, 74, wearing a plaid shirt partially open revealing his chest.
Others agreed with the assessment.
“I can’t unsee it,” one wrote, while another commented, “You’re telling me that’s not Tilda???”
“Omg I thought it was Tilda too 😂😂😂,” a fan commented.
“That strange phenomenon when an ageing male rock singer turns into a lesbian,” joked another.
The Boss, 74, took the stage at the Footprint Center in Phoenix for the first time since September when he was forced to postpone shows while battling peptic ulcer disease.
“Phoenix, first I want to apologize if there was any discomfort because we had to move the show last time,” he told the crowd toward the end of the show, per the Associated Press. “I hope we didn’t inconvenience you too much.”
Springsteen played a nearly three-hour set that included all of his greatest hits, alongside his longtime E Street Band.
In 2022, the “Born to Run” singer announced he would be embarking on a worldwide tour beginning in February 2023.
Just one month into the tour he was forced to postpone three shows in Albany “due to illness.”
A month later, both Springsteen and his wife Patti Scialfa, 70, tested positive for COVID-19.

In September, the “Glory Days” singer revealed that he was “being treated for symptoms of peptic ulcer disease.”
“Over here on E Street, we’re heartbroken to have to postpone these shows,” read a statement posted on his Instagram. “We’ve been having a blast at our US shows and we’re looking forward to more great times. We’ll be back soon. Love and God bless all, Bruce.”
Later that month, he canceled all remaining 2023 tour dates.
“Bruce Springsteen has continued to recover steadily from peptic ulcer disease over the past few weeks and will continue treatment through the rest of the year on doctor’s advice,” an Instagram post read. “With this in mind, and out of an abundance of caution, all remaining 2023 tour dates for Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band will be postponed until 2024.”
It’s been a tumultuous time for the Grammy winner who recently lost his mother Adele who died in February aged 98 after living with Alzheimer’s for many years.
Springsteen shared a heartwarming video of himself dancing with his mom to Glen Miller’s “In the Mood.”
The caption included the lyrics from his 1988 song, “The Wish,” which was penned for her.
