City of South Bend hosts job fair

SOUTH BEND, Ind. (WNDU) - Job seekers made their way to Ignition Park on Thursday afternoon to explore their options at a job fair hosted by the city of South Bend.

Managers from different city departments were on hand to provide information on job openings and to chat one-on-one with prospective employees. There was also a space reserved for on-the-spot interviews.

City departments in attendance included the South Bend police and fire departments, Venues Parks & Arts, and Central Services.

“This is a great way for the city to be seen as an employer and for folks to come in,” said Atina Slocum, director of the job fair. “We offer great benefits, and it’s just a great atmosphere to work in.”
