The body of a missing Lenoir man was found in a Caldwell County creek around noon on Tuesday.
Michael Hallford Jr., 44, was last seen on April 10 around 2 p.m., according to a news release from Caldwell County Public Information Officer Paige Counts.
Hallford’s family reported him missing on April 12 after his vehicle was found in a parking area on Brown Mountain Beach Road, the release said.
His body was found four days later in Wilson Creek downstream from where his vehicle was located, the release said.
Wilson Creek is located northwest of Collettsville in Caldwell County along Brown Mountain Beach Road.
Collettsville Fire Rescue were initially called to conduct a search for Hallford. Caldwell Emergency Services was also called.

In addition to Collettsville Fire Rescue, there were 16 agencies called to assist in the four-day water and ground searches.
“I want to thank all of the agencies and departments that helped with this search,” Caldwell County Sheriff Alan Jones said in the news release. “A search of this scope would have been impossible without the cooperation and teamwork of all of the agencies involved.”
