LINCOLN, Neb. (WOWT) - A federal judge on Tuesday cleared the way for a Nebraska murder suspect to be extradited to Germany.

The judge rejected Tommy Molina’s request to be released from custody. He’s wanted for a 1978 murder in Germany.

He was taken into custody by the U.S. Marshals Service last summer in the western Nebraska community of Gering, located near Scottsbluff.

Molina, 70, is accused of stabbing a woman 14 times while stationed in Germany as a member of the U.S. Army. Investigators say his DNA matched five different samples from the victim.

Molina claimed that a blood draw from 2020 was unconstitutional and that the federal judge disregarded several witness statements.

The judge denied Molina’s petition.
