A second Republican said he would vote to oust Mike Johnson, the Republican House speaker. Thomas Massie said he would back Marjorie Taylor Greene, a Republican congresswoman who has threatened to remove Mr Johnson if he secures additional aid for Ukraine with Democratic support. On Monday Mr Johnson proposed to decouple aid for Israel from that for Ukraine. (In February Mr Johnson rejected a Senate funding package that bundled the two together.)
