CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Over 50 students from across the Coastal Bend had the opportunity to explore their future careers today through a program called 'Opportunity Now.'
The program helps students with disabilities learn critical life and work-readiness skills to help them grow and achieve their goals after finishing high school.
The students put together presentations with their dream jobs and showed them off to potential employers at Del Mar College's Oso Creek campus Monday afternoon.
"I wanna be an airplane mechanic, I also wanna be a car mechanic, I also would like to be a welder, those skills are really good to have in life, you don't have to pay anybody you can do it yourself, and I've got to be in college for two years," student Daniel Gutierrez said.
Today's tour included students from Carroll, Veteran's Memorial and King High School.
Another group of students are expected to visit Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi tomorrow to explore opportunities there!
