NORTH EAST — An investigation is continuing after a Cecil County man was killed earlier this month when the motorcycle he was operating crashed into a sport utility vehicle on a two-lane highway near North East, according to the Maryland State Police.
Investigators identified the victim as Parker Thomas Fields, 20, of North East. Paramedics pronounced Fields dead at the crash scene on Turkey Point Road (Route 272), south of North East, police reported.
Based on the preliminary investigation, Fields was riding a 2023 Kawasaki Ninja motorcycle in the northbound lane of Route 272 at approximately 8:30 p.m. on April 13, when the driver of a southbound Nissan SUV attempted to make a left turn onto Chesapeake Club Drive, police said. The motorcycle and the SUV collided at that point, according to MSP officials, who further reported that no one was injured in the Nissan.
“The cause of the crash remains under investigation,” an MSP spokesperson reported.
