Aurora movie theater, closed due to COVID pandemic, reopens after 4 years

After nearly four years, movie lovers again can take in a movie in an Aurora theater.

Atlas Cinemas on Thursday reopened the 10-screen former Cinemark movie theater in Barrington Plaza, 140 Barrington Town Square Drive. For showtimes and tickets, check out atlascinemas.net.

The theater closed in mid-2020 due to the COVID pandemic and until this week remained shuttered.

Atlas Cinemas, a Cleveland-area company, also owns theaters in Cleveland, Euclid, Mentor and Mayfield Heights. Abdoo "Al" Saluan started the company in 1976.

Atlas Cinemas Vice President Gabriel Saluan, a co-owner and brother of the late founder, said the inside of the Aurora theater has been renovated in recent months. In addition, entertainment offerings have been expanded, including the addition of Fathom Events and Bollywood films. He added that food options also have increased.
