Violence erupted on a Long Beach street last night when a physical skirmish turned bloody, leaving one man critically wounded in a stabbing incident. The Long Beach Police Department reports that officers responded to a call at around 11:35 p.m. on the 100 block of West Artesia Boulevard. They discovered a male victim with knife wounds to the upper body. Long Beach Fire Department responders quickly transported the individual to a local hospital, where he is listed in critical but stable condition.

According to the preliminary investigation, as detailed by the Long Beach Police Department, the trouble started when the victim, armed with a knife, approached a vehicle. Engaged in conversation, the suspect, who was also wielding a knife, got out of the vehicle. The encounter soon escalated into a violent clash that ended with the suspect stabbing the victim.

Authorities are currently on the hunt for the suspect, who managed to evade capture by fleeing the scene before police could arrive.
