SALISBURY, Md – This Saturday, April 20th, the Salisbury zoo will be holding its annual Earth Day celebration.

The event will feature tons of free activities for families and kids like crafts, games, and animal enrichment with animals like bears, bison, and flamingos. In their celebration of planet earth, the zoo is hoping to help educate the community about ways that they can help take care of the environment.

“Turning off your lights, conserving your water, maybe you ride your bike instead of taking your car. They’re all little things that have a huge impact. And we want to show that to people in a way that is not only easy, but it’s free. It’s little things that everybody can do,” said Salisbury Zoo Education Curator Kelly Colbert.

The festivities start at 9 a.m. Saturday with the Zoo Stampede 5K.
