JONESBORO, Ark. (KAIT) - A Jonesboro man is being held in the Craighead County Detention Center after police said he threatened to “put a F-ing bullet” in a neighbor.

District Court Judge David Boling found probable cause Wednesday to charge 62-year-old Freddie Hugh Heise with first-degree terroristic threatening.

According to court documents, the managers of the apartment complex where Heise lives on South Caraway reported on April 10 that he had been sending “lewd and threatening” texts to the victim.

“The victim stated that the messages started off friendly then became lewd,” the detective stated in the affidavit. “Heise then told the victim that he was going to ‘Put a F-ing bullet in you.’”

The victim told the investigator that Heise had said he had a .25 caliber pistol.

On April 11, officers were called back to Heise’s apartment after a relative reported receiving some “concerning texts.”

“The relative said that Heise was served an eviction notice and made statements of shooting the neighbor and himself,” the affidavit said. “When officers made contact with Heise he admitted to having a firearm and making statements to shoot himself in the heart.”

After refusing to go with officers, an involuntary commitment order was issued and Heise was taken to a local hospital for screening.

He’s currently being held on $7,500 cash/surety bond. Heise is due in circuit court on May 24.
