GOP Caucus set to replace Orange County Recorder

ORANGE COUNTY- A caucus will be held on April 15, 2024, at 6:30 p.m. at the Paoli Town Hall, 110 N Gospel St., Paoli, Indiana. The purpose of the caucus is to appoint a pro-tem replacement for a vacancy in the office of Orange County Recorder. Balloting will be by secret ballot.

Qualified individuals may present declarations of candidacy up to 72 hours prior to the caucus to be eligible for selection by the precinct officials. Candidates must meet the registration and residency requirements, which are to be registered voters and to live within the boundaries of Orange County.

Declarations must be received on a properly executed Indiana Election Division Form CEB-5 found on the Secretary of State website at http//www.in.gov/sos/ along with a letter of interest to Orange County Republican Chairman Robert F. Henderson, 479 N Roosevelt Street, Orleans, IN 47452, or presented in person personally, to Robert F. Henderson, Caucus Chairman, before April 12th at 6:30 p.m., to be eligible to be considered.

Vice Committeemen are not eligible to vote in the caucus unless they serve as proxies for their precinct committeeman. For vice committeemen to participate in the caucus, an official proxy form completed by the precinct committee will be required. Please contact Robert if your Vice Precinct Committeeman will be voting instead of the Precinct Committeeman.

This meeting is not open to the public except for prospective candidates and others essential to properly conducting the caucus business. News media may be admitted just before the balloting.
