Giovani Lo Celso wants to quit Tottenham as offers lined up – sources

Tottenham are expected to receive multiple offers for Giovani Lo Celso going into the summer transfer window, sources have told Football Insider.

Speaking on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, senior correspondent Pete O’Rourke revealed that clubs across Europe will target the attacker.

The 28-year-old, who is an Argentina international, has had two loan spells at Villarreal during his time at Spurs.

O’Rourke added that Lo Celso is a good player, but hasn’t hit the heights expected of him at the North London club and is now expected to leave.

Tottenham ace set to generate European interest

Lo Celso has made just 19 appearances in all competitions this season, registering two goals and two assists.

That lack of game time has upset the player, who wants to quit and is pushing for an exit, sources told Football Insider earlier this month.

The 28-year-old boasts plenty of big-game experience, having made over 100 Spurs appearances, as well as representing both PSG and Villarreal over 50 times.

Lo Celso also boasts 50 Argentina caps, but such experience has often been overlooked by Ange Postecoglou this season.

The manager did bring him back in from the cold at one stage in the campaign, and it certainly paid off, with the midfielder scoring back-to-back league goals against Aston Villa and Man City.

He followed those goals up with two assists against Bournemouth shortly after, but injuries and a lack of form have resulted in Postecoglou largely turning to other options.
