Shohei Ohtani’s 115.8 mph double is the Dodgers’ 2nd hardest-hit batted ball tracked by Statcast (2015), behind only a 116.0 mph groundout from Yasiel Puig on 4/4/17

so it’s their hardest base hit

this is his 6th game as a Dodger

The Dodgers beat the Cardinals on Sunday, 5-4, as Ohtani went 1-for-4. He's hitting .269 in the early going of the season, which includes four games with the Cardinals and the Dodgers' season-opening series in Korea against the San Diego Padres.

He has yet to hit a home run with the Dodgers but has two RBI and a stolen base.

Ohtani is in the first year of a 10-year contract that he signed this offseason, so he will be with the Dodgers for possibly the rest of his career. He previously spent six years with the Los Angeles Angels, capturing two American League MVP awards there.

With the Dodgers, he'll be expected to help the team compete for its first World Series championship since the COVID-shortened 2020 season.

Ohtani is a career .274 hitter with 171 homers and 439 RBI. He is unable to pitch this season as he recovers from elbow surgery.

The Dodgers open up a series on Monday against he San Francisco Giants.
