Frontier Middle School evacuates amid gas leak

HAMBURG, N.Y. (WIVB) — Parents in the Frontier Central School District were notified of a gas leak Wednesday morning.

The notice was sent to parents and guardians in the district at 9:30 a.m. According to a Frontier spokesperson, the gas leak was found in the ceiling of the gym.

Early in the day, the middle school building was evacuated as a precautionary measure and afterschool activities were canceled. Students were moved to the high school and did not return.

Any parents looking to pick up their children can get them at the high school auditorium. Otherwise, lunch will be served at the high school and they will be sent home during their regular bus run. Proper identification is required to pick up a student.

Frontier Central High School, on Bayview Road, is located approximately five miles northeast of the middle school.
