But on Tuesday morning, S.W.A.T. teams executed a search warrant at The Compound “and pretty much kicked in every door they could find as we started flushing out the cesspool,” the release reads.

Ultimately, the raid ended with 22 of the 41 people at The Compound being arrested, the sheriff’s office announced.

In addition, the property was determined to be “unsafe and condemned,” so a large “closed” sign was placed on the property’s gate, deputies said.

“The entire property, including the various camper trailers, huts, and whatever else was there, were a disgusting mess that I wouldn’t let a pet rock live in!” Sheriff Wayne Ivey said in the release. “With that thought in mind, the agencies all worked together to condemn the property, so no one else can live there, and if they show back up, they will face additional issues!”

Investigators said that The Compound had been a part of the “Sheriff’s High-Intensity Target List,” which includes addresses that have historically been involved in criminal conduct.

It is different from Palm Bay’s “Compound,” an undeveloped area in the city known for criminal activity, including murder, that city leaders are trying to redevelop.
