HARTFORD, Conn. (WTNH) — Connecticut Attorney General William Tong continued to warn students about the dangers of social media during a news conference on Wednesday — and he had some help.

“[It’s about] understanding how social media impacts them, how potential addiction to devices impacts them and disrupts their learning, and their sleep, and their daily lives,” Tong said.

He was joined by Max Parisi, a member of Connecticut’s kid governor’s cabinet.

“I thought it was a fun space to talk about and learn on how to be safe online,” he said.

Tong has continuously warned about social media’s impacts on children.

Last month, he joined dozens of attorneys general to address what he said is a rise in scammers that are taking over Facebook accounts. He has also filed a lawsuit alongside other states suing Meta for allegedly harming children’s mental health.
