Courtney Love was interviewed by the Standard on Monday promoting her new series called ‘Courtney Love’s Women’, and she said that she “positively hates the idea” of Taylor Swift.  “Taylor is not important. She might be a safe space for girls, and she’s probably the Madonna of now, but she’s not interesting as an artist.” Taylor Swift fans didn’t miss a beat and quickly pointed out that Courtney seemingly liked Taylor Swift enough to wish her a happy birthday on Facebook just a few years ago. https://pagesix.com/2024/04/15/entertainment/courtney-love-says-taylor-swift-is-not-interesting-or-important/?_gl=1*15tvc5c*_ga*MTgwNDU0MjYwNC4xNzEwNjM4Mjg5*_ga_0DZ7LHF5PZ*MTcxMzIzMDY3OC4yOS4wLjE3MTMyMzA2NzguMC4wLjA.&_ga=2.77704404.1367740203.1713209350-1804542604.1710638289

Billy Joel’s 100th Madison Square Garden concert special got to a late start on CBS Sunday night due to the Masters golf tournament. Then, CBS upset some Joel fans even more by pulling the plug on the special while Joel was in the middle of his classic hit, “Piano Man” to cut to local news. CBS will re-air “Billy Joel: The 100th – Live at Madison Square Garden” Friday night  https://www.huffpost.com/entry/billy-joel-concert-cut-cbs_n_661cadb5e4b0f709554b00b7

Hannah Waddingham from “Ted Lasso” and “Game of Thrones” will NOT be pushed around by creepy photographers. Hannah hosted an award show for the theater in London on Sunday, and before the event, she was posing for pictures.  One of the guys asked her to show some leg, and she WENT OFF, saying quote: “Oh my God, you’d never say that to a man.  Don’t be a [dick], otherwise I’ll move off.  Don’t say ‘show me leg.’  No.” Then she DID walk off, wagging a finger at the guy as she passed him. https://consequence.net/2024/04/hannah-waddingham-sexist-photographer/

Harrison Ford’s earring is pretty cool. And now we know why he has it.  During last week’s Jimmy Buffett tribute concert, he shared that it was because of Jimmy’s “infectious” coolness. “[His coolness is] infectious enough for a 40-year-old man to spontaneously get his [effing] ear pierced.  And infectious enough to create an entire culture around his music . . . There will never be another like Jimmy.” https://people.com/harrison-ford-jimmy-buffett-inspired-him-ears-pierced-8633421

Heinz is tickled pink over new sauce … Barbiemania is still running wild, especially in the UK, so the Heinz company is looking to jump on the pink train by offering a new pink Barbie-cue sauce. Heinz has teamed up with Mattel for Barbie’s 65th anniversary to create a bright pink version of its Classic Barbecue Sauce that, for now, will only be available in the UK and Spain. The Classic Barbiecue Sauce is a mix of vegan mayonnaise and barbecue sauce. It’s pink color comes from the addition of beetroot extract. Heinz says if the Barbiecue sauce is a hit, the company may expand it to other markets. And not to totally ignore Ken, Heinz has also floated the idea of a Ken-chup. https://www.foodandwine.com/heinz-mattel-collaboration-classic-barbiecue-sauce-8631203

The Justice Department is allegedly going to file an antitrust lawsuit against Live Nation as soon as next month. Live Nation is the parent company of Ticketmaster.  And the feds say they’ve used their industry dominance to undermine competition for ticketing live events. The result is that WE pay more, and there’s nothing we can do about it, because Live Nation and Ticketmaster are pretty much the only game in town. Last year, a Senate panel subpoenaed documents from Live Nation pertaining to ticket pricing, fees, and secondary sales – LINK

Sonny Gray pitched six shutout innings to get his streak to 11 consecutive without a run to begin his Cardinals career. That gave the Cardinals plenty of time to sit on their one run in the first inning before making it bigger in a 3-1 victory late Monday night against the A’s in Oakland. Nolan Arenado had two hits in his first two at-bats and an RBI single to begin the Cardinals’ scoring. Willson Contreras added two doubles to go with an RBI and a run scored. They go again in Oakland tonight at 840pm. Sonny Gray’s brilliant beginning to Cardinals tenure continues with 6 shutout innings vs. A’s – LINK

The WNBA Draft was held on Monday night.  To no one’s surprise, Iowa’s Caitlin Clark was drafted number one by the Indiana Fever.  With the second pick, The Los Angeles Sparks picked up Stanford standout Cameron Brink. Two of the biggest names in women’s college basketball were drafted by the Chicago Sky. South Carolina’s Kamilla Cardoso was taken third and LSU’s Angel Reese went seventh.

A Dodgers fan tried to pull a fast one with the crowd during Sunday’s night game against the San Diego Padres. But he’s now admitting he was caught red-handed! In the fourth inning, Padres third baseman Manny Machado hit a home run to left center – where the ball was caught by a Dodgers fan. Some baseball enthusiasts live by the unwritten rule that if you catch a home run by the visiting team, you’re supposed to throw it back onto the field and not hold onto it as a souvenir. The fan wearing a Dodgers hoodie tried to fool his fellow fans around him in the stands into thinking that’s what he did. He caught the ball, then swiftly brought his hand down into his jacket, came out with a ball and threw it onto the field. But TV cameras showed Machado’s actual home run ball still in his glove. The fan later confessed in an interview that he pulled a decoy ball out of his jacket pocket to throw back – pulling the old switcharoo. “I got caught. Every ball hawk knows to come prepared for a reason like this,” the fan said. “If a hated Padre hits a home run and you don’t throw it back, you’ll get booed mercilessly by the Dodger faithful…It could happen so I was ready.” The Dodgers lost to the Padres 6-3

Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Rashee Rice is being sued by two people who were injured in the multi-car crash he allegedly caused while driving at high speeds in Dallas last month. According to court documents viewed by Fox 4 Kansas City, Rice and SMU cornerback Teddy Knox, who is accused of driving the other car that caused the crash, are being sued by Irina Gromova and Edvard Petrovskiy, for causing numerous injuries including “trauma to the brain, lacerations to the face requiring stitches, multiple contusions about the body, disfigurement, internal bleeding, and other internal and external injuries that may only be fully revealed over the course of medical treatment.” Gromova and Petrovskiy are asking for $1 million in negligence and punitive damages. Rice, 23, was driving in a Lamborghini before causing the crash on March 30 in Dallas, which Rice’s lawyer admitted to nearly a week after the crash. According to a police report, Rice was driving 119 mph just seconds before the crash. He was allegedly racing against a Corvette being driven 116 mph by Knox, who has also been arrested. Both fled the scene after the crash. Chiefs WR Rashee Rice sued for $1M over involvement in Dallas speeding crash – LINK
