Milwaukee police blocked off the area of 57th and Center streets Monday night as they investigated an shooting in the parking lot of an auto shop.
Investigators said it happened following a verbal argument just before 5:30 p.m.
The 32-year-old shooting victim died at the scene. Police arrested a 35-year-old.
The Milwauke County Medical Examiner's Office identified the victim as Tamario S. Williams, of Milwaukee (pictured below).
Williams' mother said he went to buy a tire at Changing Lanes Tire Shop and never returned home.
"To know that my son went to go get a tire, a tire that costed him his life, it's not fair," Sheila Williams said. "I hope that justice be done for my son because it's not fair."
Williams said Tamario was a father of an 11-year-old son, who she described as his best friend.
Williams' family organized a GoFundme to help pay for funeral expenses.
Charges are pending review by the Milwaukee County District Attorney's Office.
