Sulphur’s Jake Brown Hits First Collegiate Home Run, LSU beats McNeese 16-0
BATON ROUGE, La. (KPLC) - Entering Tuesday night’s game in Baton Rouge, both McNeese and LSU were in need of wins. The Tigers entered having lost two in a row and six of their last seven, while McNeese had also lost two in a row and four of their last seven. Unfortunately for McNeese, Tuesday night’s game was never in question.
Jared Jones got the scoring started for LSU in the first inning, smacking a home run to left field, the first of five runs the Tigers would score in the first, and the first home run of a historic night for Jones.
Jones would end the night with three home runs, tying the LSU record for single-game home runs, and former Sulphur Golden Tor Jake Brown hit his first collegiate home run as well, a two-run shot to right field in the fifth inning that extended LSU’s lead to 11-0 over the Cowboys, as the Tigers would eventually go on to win it 16-0 in seven innings.
