CINCINNATI (Cincinnati Business Courier) - The city of Cincinnati appears to be changing which company manages the Duke Energy Convention Center downtown.

Los Angeles-based Oak View Group, which has had the contract since 2011, will be replaced once the convention center reopens after a $209 million renovation set to last 18 months, according to a document filed with the state of Ohio.

The contract has been out for bid. The city owns the convention center, and the city manager decides which company manages it. Spokeswoman Mollie Lair said the request for proposal process is ongoing and no contract has been awarded.

But an Ohio Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notice filed by OVG says the contract “will not be renewed.” There are 108 workers at that location who will be laid off.
