Person killed in crash on Sunnybrook Road in Raleigh

Police are investigating a deadly crash on Monday in Raleigh.

According to the Raleigh Police Department, the crash happened on Sunnybrook Road near Bright Creek Falls Trail around 7:33 p.m.

Police said 47-year-old Matthew Alexander attempted to make an Illegal u-turn in his 2018 Ford Fiesta on Sunnybrook Road in a right-turn only lane. A 2008 Ford Edge driven by an adult woman crashed into Alexander's car while it was making the u-turn.

Alexander died and the woman and a passenger in Alexander's car went to the hospital. One of the injured had serious but non-life-threatening injuries and the other does not have serious injuries.
