MOREHEAD, Ky. – Sophomore Cam Harthan recorded the first multi-home run game of his career Wednesday afternoon on the road in Morehead, Kentucky.

The Marshall University Baseball team (12-24) fell in the contest to Morehead State (20-16), 18-7, in seven innings.

"It's obviously a good day to hit today with the wind in this ballpark," Herd Baseball head coach Greg Beals said after the game that featured 25 runs scored. "They obviously know how to play in this ballpark and we didn't. We didn't pitch as well as we needed to. I thought most importantly we didn't make any plays on defense. We didn't support our pitching staff."

Harthan's long balls came on a two-out, two-run blast to score Ethan Murdoch in the third and a solo homer to lead off the fifth.

In the fourth, Jake Sparks collected his first collegiate hit with a double down the right-field line to score Murdoch.

Then in the sixth, Owen Ayers hit his 16th double of the season bringing home Murdoch, Jack Smith and Harthan for a three-RBI hit. The two-bagger extended Ayers' on-base streak to 16 games.

With a walk in the third, AJ Havrilla extended his on-base streak to 18 games.

The Eagles tallied their runs with three in first, two in the second, five in each of the fourth and sixth frames, and three in the seventh to end the game with a run-rule in effect.
