Even if you've never seen an episode of Keeping Up with the Kardashians or The Kardashians, you probably know Kourtney Kardashian's iconic line: "Kim, there's people that are dying." The meme-ified moment happened on a family trip to Bora Bora when Kim Kardashian lost her diamond earring in the ocean, and her sister Kourtney chided her for melting down over it. The earring was eventually found, but the memory lives forever — and Kourtney just recreated it on another family trip.

The Kardashian-Jenner crew is currently on vacation in Turks and Caicos, as you've probably seen on their Instagrams, and Kourtney took the opportunity to tease her younger sister by referencing the lost-earring moment.

In her latest post, Kourtney poses in the turquoise ocean water in a black triangle top bikini, captioning it, "My diamond earring came off in the ocean and it's gone," just like Kim said in the episode. In the second photo of the set, Kourtney reaches for her ears just like Kim did, though it's clearly in jest, and no diamond earrings were actually harmed by this dip in the water.

Kimberly has yet to chime in regarding the reference, but matriarch Kris Jenner did, commenting, "Kourtney, there are people that are dying …." Little sister Kylie Jenner simply wrote, "Cutie."

In late 2023, Kim said she was tired of people constantly asking her about lost earrings. "Any time I'm in water, people will ask me if I found my diamond earring in the ocean," she told GQ.

According to Kim, Kylie actually found the original earring back in 2010, diving in with goggles to locate it. “She found it, and then she went back and found the back of it. That's how clear the water is in Bora Bora, so, guys, the earring has been found.”
