Chief Meteorologist Stephen Bowers joined KKCO 11 News in May 2022. Stephen comes to KKCO from Gray Television sister station in Mississippi. Colorado is familiar territory for Stephen. He worked for about five years on the other side of the mountains in Colorado Springs. After Colorado Springs, Stephen worked in Huntsville, Alabama and in Meridian, Mississippi. Over more than fifteen years, Stephen's experience includes historic tornado outbreaks, hurricanes, ice storms, snow storms, and wildfires, including the Black Forest Fire. Stephen is from Pensacola, Florida. After graduating from Pensacola State College, Stephen went on to Florida State University for meteorology. Stephen likes to travel and read, and he enjoys hiking or driving in the mountains.
A fast moving cold front will bring a brief shot at rain Wednesday afternoon and evening, then some brief cooling.
Our new week starts warm and will end warmer, but a cold front around mid-week will briefly swat down our temperatures by about 10 degrees. That comes with a chance for rain on the Western Slope and snow in the mountains.
