The loan signing of Adam Idah from Norwich City in January by Celtic really has been an inspired piece of business by the club.

Seven goals in twelve appearances has shown that the Republic of Ireland international has what it takes to play in Glasgow.

And talk about playing under pressure. Two late penalties against Hibs at Easter Road, a late double at Fir Park when drawing against Motherwell and then smashing in Celtic’s third at Ibrox right after Rangers equalised, Idah has nerves of steel.

And it’s those nerves that have kept Celtic’s title hopes alive.

Adam Idah relishing Celtic’s title challenge

Born in Ireland, we told earlier how Idah has been blown away by the Celtic supporters both in Glasgow and at home in Cork.

But right now, what Idah is loving most about his time in Glasgow is what the title race is bringing and the experience is has allowed him to have/

Idah said [Daily Record], “This is something to relish rather than fear. It’s why you are in the game. These games are there to be won and we want to be the ones winning them.

“It does help to have that experience in the dressing room. You always need that experience. We have the likes of Callum McGregor, Joe Hart, James Forrest – they bring so much to the squad.

“I also think having new guys in the team can help as well. Everyone has been here and there and you can pick up little things.

“That’s the good thing about this dressing room. It’s not just the experienced lads, we are all in this together. That’s what I love about it.”

The Celtic fans are in no doubt that when his loan deal comes to an end, Brendan Rodgers must look to sign him on a permanent deal.

The sticking point could be the price that Celtic are willing to pay. Recent figures suggest it could be north of £6m.

Would Celtic be willing to go that far? For a 23-year-old, it does seem like a sound investment. But based on his goalscoring return already, that figure seems like a bargain.
