JACKSON COUNTY, MI – An I-94 entrance and exit ramp is closing in Jackson County.
The Michigan Department of Transportation has closed the eastbound I-94 and Parma Road entrance and exit ramps for rebuilding. The closure began at 6 a.m. Monday, April 1, and is expected to reopen at 9 a.m. Friday, April 26, officials said.
This work will require the full closure of the exit and entrance ramps, including on weekends, officials said.
These improvements will provide increased safety and mobility in this area of I-94. Closing lanes during this type of work is necessary to provide the safest work area possible for crews and motorists, officials said.
Motorists should expect delays, officials said.
This work is a part of MDOT’s $162-million project to rebuild nearly 13 miles of I-94 in Jackson, Albion, and Parma. The project is estimated to finish in November of 2024, officials said.
Funding for this project is through Gov. Gretchen Whitmer’s Rebuilding Michigan program to rebuild the state highways and bridges that are critical to the state’s economy and carry the most traffic.
