The Pleasant Valley boys tennis team defeated cross-town rival Chico High 7-2 on Tuesday at Chico High.

Moodal Lee, Euvene Lee, Jimmy Lauderdale, William Pechkis and Nico Lopez won their singles matches for PV.

Shawn Wun won in singles for Chico, coming from behind to win 4-6, 6-0, 10-3. Chico’s doubles team of Soren Granlund and Carson Parent defeated the team of Moodal Lee and Euvene Lee 13-11.

Chico finishes its regular season schedule with a record of 8-5 and 6-4 in Eastern Athletic League play, and currently sits third in the EAL standings behind PV (12-1, 6-1 EAL) and Shasta (9-2, 7-2 EAL).

PV concludes its regular season schedule at 3 p.m. Thursday at home against Foothill.

Prep softball

Pleasant Valley 20, Enterprise 0: PV pitcher Kody Aisthorpe tossed a perfect game in the Vikings’ road win Tuesday, tossing five innings and striking out eight.

The Vikings scored three times in the third inning and five times in the second before an 11-run third inning gave them an 19-0 lead. PV added one run in the fifth inning, before Aisthorpe sealed the game that ended due to a run rule.

Lily Thurman and Carissa Ta’amai led PV with three hits each as the Vikings combined for 16 hits. Ella Thurman, Alissa Snipes, Melea Sanchez and Giselle Ramirez had two hits each. The Vikings had two extra base hits, a double from Ta’amai and a home run from Snipes.

Lily Thurman had four RBIs, Ella Thurman had three RBIs, and Snipes had three RBIs and Ta’amai had two RBIs. The Vikings also walked nine times, led by two from Lily Thurman and two from Aisthorpe. Lily Thurman and Bella Cox had two steals each.

PV (10-3, 3-0 EAL) played a non-league game at Enterprise Wednesday, and will face Chico High (5-7-2, 2-2 EAL) at 5 p.m. Thursday at PV.

Las Plumas 10, Orland 1: LP won its fifth game in six tries in Orland.

The Thunderbirds scored twice in the first, once in the second, four times in the third, once in the fourth, once in the sixth and once in the seventh. The Trojans scored their lone run in the fourth inning.

Freshman Marli Benedict led LP three hits and two RBIs; Rylie Mcinturf had two hits, three runs scored and two RBIs; Kendal Headley had two hits, one RBI and a double; and Mckena Harvey had two RBIs.

Harvey tossed seven innings and allowed three hits, one run (none earned), five walks and struck out 12.

Jaycee Eden had the lone RBI for the Trojans.

LP (12-2-2, 2-0 Butte View League) plays next at 3 p.m. Friday against Pleasant Valley in tournament play.

Orland (2-13, 1-1 BVL) plays next at 4 p.m. Friday at Corning.
