DPS: Man on Texas Top 10 Most Wanted List captured in Amarillo
AMARILLO, Texas (KFDA) - A man on the Texas Top 10 Most Wanted List has been captured in Amarillo, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.
According to a press release, 35-year-old Juan Carlos Huerta was arrested in Amarillo on March 26 by members of the U.S. Marshals North Texas Fugitive Task Force, including DPS Criminal Investigations Division Special Agents. The Amarillo Police Department also assisted in this investigation.
In 2016, Huerta was convicted of burglary of a habitation and sentenced to four years of probation.
Officials say Huerta had been wanted since Dec 2023 after multiple warrants for his arrest were issued out of Potter County.
The warrants included one count of aggravated sexual assault of a child, four counts of indecency with a child by sexual contact and one count of indecency with a child by exposure.
