Motorcycle rider dies after crashing into pickup truck in unincorporated Lakeside
The motorcycle crashed into the back of a Ford F-150 Tuesday on Winter Gardens Boulevard, north of Lemon Crest Drive
A man was killed after he crashed his motorcycle into a pickup truck in the Lakeside area Tuesday, according to a California Highway Patrol officer.
The crash was reported around 8:05 p.m. on Winter Gardens Boulevard, north of Lemon Crest Drive, in the Winter Gardens community, CHP Officer Jared Grieshaber said in a news release.
According to investigators, the motorcycle was driving south at a high rate of speed and crashed into the back of a Ford F-150 that was pulling onto the street from a public driveway, Grieshaber said.
Both vehicles caught on fire after the crash.
The motorcyclist was taken to a hospital, where he died. His name was not yet released by the Medical Examiner’s Office.
The driver and passenger in the pickup truck were uninjured.
It is unknown if drugs or alcohol played a factor in the crash, Grieshaber said.
