The Dodgers look to win a second straight against San Diego to steal the series after dropping Game 1 on Friday night. Los Angeles has backed up the significant hype around the team after making a huge commitment to sign superstar Shohei Ohtani in free agency, starting off the season with an 11-6 record and a three-game lead in the National League West going into Sunday night. The Dodgers will start veteran lefty James Paxton, who is 2-0 with a 1.64 ERA in two starts this season.

The Padres are in a trailing position to the Dodgers in the NL West with their 8-9 record going into Sunday night, so not only would a win pull the club back to .500, it would mark a two-game with the Dodgers instead of potentially four with a losing effort. San Diego has major talent up and down its lineup, but not all bats are hitting just yet. Fernando Tatis Jr. is off to a hot start with his .288 average, five homers and .893 OPS, and Jurickson Profar has delivered with a team-high .419 on-base percentage and .948 OPS.
Right-hander Yu Darvish will get the ball against LA after going 0-1 with a 3.86 ERA in his first four starts.
