Paid parking permits are available for 14 covered parking spaces in the public parking lot in downtown Walla Walla, behind City Hall.

The covered spaces are located between Third and Fourth avenues and Main and Rose streets under the Farmers’ Market structure.

The permits will be valid for the next parking cycle, Monday, July 1, 2024, through Tuesday, June 30, 2026, according to a city news release.

The permits must be issued in the name of a person, not a business or other entity. The permit holder gets a designated space available from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Mondays through Fridays. The permits cost $468 a year.

The city is taking applications for the spaces through noon Friday, June 7. The applications must be complete and clearly marked “Application for paid parking permit.”

A drawing of 14 names will occur at 1:30 p.m. that day, the release said.

The first year’s fee is due within seven days of written notice by the city, or the permit will be forfeited. Applications are available from the city clerk’s office, 15 N. Third Ave., or by calling 509-577-4424 or going online.
