Lingering front keeps storm chances around Tuesday afternoon
Summer-like warmth lingers through workweek
- Showers/storms fade away overnight
- Areas of fog possible in the morning
- Stalled front keeps storms nearby Tuesday
- Staying warm most of the week
OVERNIGHT
A frontal boundary will drop into Virginia from the north tonight. Lows tonight will dip into the 50s with a stray shower possible. Areas of clouds and fog will develop over the Southside and in hometowns that saw rain Monday evening.
TUESDAY
The threat for some isolated storms will fire up again Tuesday afternoon with a warm front draped over the region. Any storm that develops could produce strong gusty winds and pockets of hail. We may issue a First Alert Weather Day again Tuesday should conditions look favorable for severe weather.
TIMING: Isolated to scattered storms possible anytime between 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. and diminish the closer we get to midnight.
THREATS: Damaging wind, pockets of hail and heavy rainfall
Highs will warm to the 70s and 80s once again, trending about 10 degrees above normal.
STAYING WARM
Our warm stretch continues through the workweek. Highs will be in the 70s and 80s through Friday.
WORKWEEK RAIN CHANCES
Low-end shower and storm chances hang around through the extended forecast. We’re closely watching those weekend rain chances as a front approaches the region.
