The Camden Fairview school board will meet at 6:30 on Tuesday, April 16 at the Garrison Auditorium.

The agenda is as follows.

d. Presentation and recommendation of JO Staats, Inc. to install window safety film at all campuses.

e. Presentation and recommendation of Davis Playgrounds to install of playground equipment at FES and Ivory.

f. Presentation and recommendation of East Harding for demolition work and renovation at the Bridge Academy.

Last week in a special called meeting the Camden Fairview School board voted to reorganize with school board vice president Macon Patton taking on the role of president.

Ben Goss was named new vice president with Maria Daniel being nominated secretary. All appointments were approved unanimously.

Patton assumes the role after the retirement of long time president and board member Eddie Ray Moore.

Additionally the board hired Mack Skelton as the principal for Camden Fairview High School, a Facebook post from the district states, " We are excited to announce that Mack Skelton has been selected as the new Camden Fairview High School principal for the 2024-2025 school year, following Ms. Cara Bowie's promotion to District Special Programs Coordinator.

"Mr. Skelton has been an educator for 19 years, and he is currently the District Operations Administrator at Harrisburg School District. He previously served as a high school principal and junior high school principal and also taught English, speech, journalism, and CTE. Mr. Skelton holds degrees in Speech Communication (BA), Communication Studies (MA), and an Education Specialist degree in Educational Leadership.

"Mr. Skelton's background gives him experience at the classroom, building, and district levels. He also has experience in large and small districts, as well as districts with diverse student populations. He brings strong instructional and administrative leadership skills to support the staff and CFHS students as they build on the foundation of positive changes that Ms. Bowie and her team have worked hard to achieve over the last three years.

"Mr. Skelton's first day as CFHS principal will be July 1, 2024. Please join us in welcoming Mr. Skelton to Camden Fairview!"
