WWE superstar Drew Gulak was reportedly pulled from appearances over WrestleMania weekend after allegations made by Ronda Rousey.
The former UFC and WWE champion – who left the company last summer after her match with Shayna Baszler at SummerSlam – accused the 36-year-old wrestler of sexual misconduct after crossing paths with him in the corridor at an event.
Last week, she told NewsNation she had been waiting to speak to Paul ‘Triple H’ Levesque in the writer’s room when Gulak allegedly grabbed the string of her sweatpants.
In response, the star tweeted: ‘Backstage at a WWE event in 2022, I saw Ronda talking with a group in the hallway.
‘I stopped to say hi and shake all their hands, and in an attempt to shake her hand, I accidentally touched her drawstring. Complete accident, and one that I had apologized to her for the mishap.’
Gulak’s status in the company was questioned after he didn’t appear on screen with his No Quarter Catch Club teammates on Tuesday’s episode of NXT, while his name was absent from their TitanTron video.
According to Fightful Select, Gulak was also pulled from a number of appearances over WrestleMania weekend in Philadelphia, including the Hall of Fame ceremony.
It’s said the wrestler wasn’t backstage on Tuesday, and there was no mention of him on NXT television, while the outlet claimed there are also no creative plans for him on screen at the moment.
Gulak – a former Cruiserweight and 24/7 Champion – has been a prominent part of NXT in recent months as the leader of No Quarter Catch Crew alongside Charlie Dempsey, Myles Borne and Damon Kemp.
Rousey accused Gulak of inappropriate conduct after being asked about the allegations against former WWE boss Vince McMahon, and her experiences in WWE.
Discussing the alleged incident with Gulak, she added: ‘I confronted him later and I was like, “If I ever hear about you putting your hands on any other woman like this or doing anything like this to me ever again, we’re going to have a problem.”
‘He was like, “No, no, no. I’m glad you said something to me.”
‘He really backpedaled, but it put a sour taste in my mouth about the culture there and what’s considered acceptable on how to touch and treat the women in the hallways, and anywhere.’
Earlier this year, McMahon stepped down as executive chairman of WWE’s parent company TKO following allegations of sexual assault and sex trafficking, which he has denied.
He said in a previous statement: ‘I intend to vigorously defend myself against these baseless accusations, and look forward to clearing my name.’
