The original Netflix documentary debuted on the streamer on April 10. What Jennifer Did chronicles the investigation into a violent home invasion in 2010 of a house owned by Vietnamese immigrants in a seemingly peaceful neighborhood in a Canadian town.
Jennifer Pan was tied up by intruders, but her mother was murdered and her father was critically wounded. However, as investigators delved deeper into the case, some shocking secrets surrounding Pan and her relationship with her ex-boyfriend family unfold.
Even though What Jennifer Did didn’t have a chance to stream for a full week on Netflix, it debuted at No. 1 on the streamer’s Global Top 10 Global Movies chart with 18 million views, which equates to 26.1 million viewing hours. What Jennifer Did also debuted at No. 1 on the U.S. Top 10 Movie chart.
‘Scoop’ Moved Up On Netflix’s Global Top 10 Chart
After making its debut at No. 6 on Netflix’s Global Top 10 Movies chart the week of April 1-7, Scoop — which chronicles the BBC’s widely-watched 2019 interview with Prince Andrew about his friendship with Jeffrey Epstein — moved up to the No. 3 position.
Scoop, which debuted on Netflix on April 5, had 8.5 million views, which equates to 14.6 million viewing hours. The film stars Gillian Anderson as Emily Maitlis, the BBC Newsnight interviewer who has the sit-down with Prince Andrew (Rufus Sewell).
It turned out to be a disastrous interview for Prince Andrew and it ultimately led to the disgraced royal’s downfall. The film also stars Billie Piper as Sam McAlister, the Newsnight producer who secured the blockbuster interview with Prince Andrew.
The animated feature Woody Woodpecker Goes to Camp debuted at No. 2 on the Netflix Global Movie Chart for the week of April 8-14 with 11.8 million views, which equates to 19.6 million hours viewed.
The 2019 M. Night Shyamalan suspense thriller Glass came in at No. 4 in its second week on the Global Top 10 movie chart with 5.1 million views, which translated into 11 million hours viewed. Rounding out the Top 5 was the 2017 war drama Megan Leavy, which was viewed 5 million times, equating to 9.7 million hours viewed.
