Week 2 of the newly formed United Football League will feature a Saturday night primetime matchup between two former XFL franchises, as the Arlington Renegades travel to Missouri to take on the St. Louis Battlehawks.
The Renegades lost their opening game to the former USFL champions in a battle of former champs while Battlehawks lost a close game to another former USFL franchise in Michigan. Which former XFL member will get their first win in this new league and cover in the UFL odds this week?

Renegades vs Battlehawks predictions
The Renegades took a bit of a beating in the battle of defending champions, losing to the Birmingham Stallions 27-14 at home last week. Their biggest issue in that game was their inability to get anything going in the run game. They had only 59 yards rushing on 18 attempts.
On defense, Arlington had a tough time getting off the field, allowing the Stallions to convert 8 of 12 third downs and 1-for-1 on fourth downs. It also allowed 171 rushing yards on 36 attempts and allowed Birmingham to completely destroy the clock late with an 8:39 drive in the fourth quarter of a two-score game.
The Battlehawks were in a defensive battle with the Michigan Panthers until the fourth and ultimately lost 18-16 on the road. They got a great game from former NFL quarterback AJ McCarron, who went 24-for-37 passing for 216 yards and two touchdowns. However, former NFL running back Wayne Gallman was only able to muster up 40 yards rushing on 13 carries.
In their return home, I like the Battlehawks to be better equipped to bounce back from a tough loss than the Renegades. McCarron had the most impressive game at quarterback in Week 1 and their defense was much better than Arlington’s. St. Louis only allowed Michigan to convert three of nine third downs last week.
Last season, Arlington lost its only matchup with the Battlehawks 24-11 in St. Louis. I expect a similar result here, as the Battlehawks should have the advantage on both sides of the ball.

The Renegades only managed to score 14 points last weekend and just 11 at St. Louis last season. The Battlehawks only allowed seven points through the first three quarters last week in Michigan and should be able to handle the Renegades this week. I like the Under here.
