SARASOTA, Fla. (WWSB) - We have had a string of days with lots of sunshine and mild temperatures along the coast with upper 80s elsewhere. High pressure has been the main weather feature which has been responsible for providing us with this beautiful spring weather. Winds during the morning have been out of the ESE and then during the mid afternoon we are see a sea breeze or west wind develop and bring in the Gulf cooled air. The water temperatures are right around 75 degrees right now so the air moving into the coast has been in the upper 70s to low 80s right along the beaches. Inland or a few miles east of the beaches we are seeing the temperatures warm into the upper 80s which is a few degrees above average for this time of year.

High pressure is also keeping skies clear with sinking air which usually means cloud free or next to it for much of the day. Now there are a couple of cold fronts heading our way which will erode or cause this high pressure system to give way a bit to what is left of these front. We will see them get close over the next couple of days but will lose to the ridge of high pressure. There is one that will make it through our area on Monday but it won’t have much punch to it and we don’t expect to see much rain if any as it moves through. The rain chance on Monday is only at 20%.

Behind the front we will see only slightly cooler temperatures with some slightly drier air moving in behind it.
