Early betting line released for South Carolina-Iowa NCAA championship game
The No. 1 South Carolina women’s basketball team is a slight betting favorite against Iowa in Sunday’s national championship game, according to lines released late Friday night.
Draft Kings has USC as a 6-point favorite against the Hawkeyes and star guard Caitlin Clark on its live betting line on its website. Other sportsbooks will release lines throughout the night and Saturday morning.
The Gamecocks, the No. 1 overall seed in the bracket, beat No. 3 N.C. State, 78-59, in the early game at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse in Cleveland. In the late game, No. 1 Iowa took down No. 3 UConn, 71-69, to set up a highly anticipated rematch of last year’s national semifinal.
In the 2023 Final Four in Dallas, Clark had 41 points as Iowa ended South Carolina’s perfect season in the national semifinals. Iowa went on to lose against LSU in last year’s title game.
Coach Dawn Staley’s Gamecocks enter Sunday’s championship game 37-0, while Iowa will enter 33-4. Tip-off is scheduled for 3 p.m. on ABC.
