60+ charges, more than $2.5 million bond for Iredell County drug dealer: Sheriff

IREDELL COUNTY, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — A Statesville man has been arrested with 36 drug charges and 25 outstanding felony warrants for selling drugs in Gaston County, according to the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies found and arrested 45-year-old Boris Dewan Cunningham at his house at 2201 West Front Street. Officials said he tried to flee the residence when deputies arrived to arrest him.

When Cunningham was arrested, he was found with fentanyl, MDMA and methamphetamine packaged in a way for it to be sold. Deputies used a search warrant for the home and found more fentanyl, MDMA and methamphetamine along with marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

Cunningham was taken to the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office and placed without bond for the charges of:

  • Eighteen Counts of Felony Trafficking Opium or Heroin

  • Four Counts of Felony Possession of a Schedule II Substance

  • Four Counts of Felony Sell or Deliver a Schedule II Substance

  • Three Counts of Felony Maintaining a Dwelling for the Sale of a Controlled Substance

  • Two Counts of Felony Possession of a Schedule I Substance

  • Felony Possession with Intent to Sell or Deliver a Schedule I Controlled Substance

  • Felony Possession of Methamphetamine

  • Misdemeanor Possession of Marijuana

  • Misdemeanor Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

  • Misdemeanor Possession of Marijuana Paraphernalia

Authorities say he was issued a $2,550,000 bond for the 25 outstanding felony warrants.
