Flying Pig Marathon named Best Marathon in America by USA TODAY
Cincinnati's Flying Pig Marathon has been named the best marathon in the United States by the USA TODAY 10Best Readers’ Choice travel award.
The Flying Pig Marathon was among 20 chosen by the publication as the best in the country.
The list of the top 10 finalists includes:
- Cincinnati Flying Pig Marathon
- New York City Marathon
- Marine Corps Marathon
- Big Sur International Marathon
- Coast Guard Marathon
- CNO Financial Indianapolis Monumental Marathon
- Shiprock Marathon
- Bank of America Chicago Marathon
- Honolulu Marathon
- Hatfield McCoy Marathon
Last year, nearly 40,000 people took part in Flying Pig events as it celebrated its 25th year.
The race generated $22 million dollars of impact for the Queen City in 2023, according to a study by Burke Inc. and Xavier University.
Mayor Aftab Pureval joined the leaders from Pig Works at City Hall Wednesday to celebrate the announcement.
The contests are launched every other Monday at noon and closes on the 28th day of the month with winners revealed on the Friday after voting ends.
The 26th running of the Cincinnati Flying Pig Marathon weekend is May 3-5, 2024 and you'll be able to watch all the action on WLWT News 5.
