After a long layoff, the Lady Indians (11-3) needed a few times through the lineup to get their bats going.

The offense, though, came up big.

Madison Central collected 13 hits and rolled to a 10-0, five-inning win over Estill County (3-8) on Monday in Richmond. The Lady Indians had five players with two hits and got a solid performance from Andrea Linton in the circle.

The game was the first for Central in 11 days.

The Lady Indians scored once in the second and third innings, before pushing across eight runs in the fifth.

Brooklyn Guilbault was 2-for-3 with a double, two RBI and scored twice. Cassidy Gentry was 2-for-3 with two RBI. Reille Parks was 2-for-3 with an RBI and scored twice.

Mollie Neeley was 2-for-2 with an RBI and scored a run, while Miley Cooke was 2-for-3.

Linton earned the complete-game win, allowing just one hit and no walks, with five strikeouts.

Olivia Metcalfe had two RBI and scored a run. Linton was 1-for-3 with an RBI. Lena Guerra was 1-for-3 with an RBI and scored once. 

Cassidy Hack was 1-for-3.

Central is set to return to action Tuesday at Scott County.

Douglass rallies past Southern

The Lady Eagles (10-9) led by as much as four runs, but couldn't hold on for a win Monday against an 11th Region opponent in Lexington.

Frederick Douglass (8-6) scored three times in the both of the sixth inning to claim a 10-9 win. Madison Southern had 12 hits, including a 3-for-4 performance by Allie Wilson.

The game was Southern's first since April 3.

Anna Kate Cress was 2-for-4 with an RBI and scored once. Lydia Grinstead was 2-for-3 with an RBI.

Southern was up 5-1 in the third inning, then went up 9-7 with four runs in the top of the sixth.

Ashlan Estep was 1-for-2 with a double, a walk, an RBI and scored twice. Lexie Keener was 1-for-4 and scored twice. Taylor Reeves was 1-for-4 with an RBI and scored a run.

Belle Strunk went the distance in the circle. She allowed 14 hits and 10 runs (seven earned), but did not walk a batter and had three strikeouts.

Chloe Rison was 1-for-4 with an RBI. Ava Baldridge was 1-for-4 with an RBI and scored once. Larkin White also scored a run.

Southern is set to return to action Tuesday at home against South Laurel.

LCA beats Model

The Lady Patriots (3-3) had just four hits and were handed a 16-3 six-inning loss by Lexington Christian Academy (5-4) on Monday in Richmond.

The Lady Eagles scored eight times in the top of the first inning.

The game was the first for Model Laboratory in 10 days.

Josie Williams was 1-for-3 with a double and scored once. Kendall Maggard was 1-for-1 with a walk and an RBI. Claire Garner was 1-for-1 and scored once. Jalyne Southworth was 1-for-3.

Piper Moore started in the circle and pitched 4 2/3 innings, allowing 13 hits. Maggard worked one inning.

Alana Wever walked and scored once. Rylli Hunt had an RBI and a walk. Kaylyn Renfro had a walk.

Model is set to return to action Tuesday at Danville.
