North Carolina man charged with sexual exploitation of a minor, Lexington officers say
A man has been arrested for child sex crimes, according to officials with the Lexington Police Department.
On Jan. 26, the Lexington Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division received a tip through the Internet Crimes Against Children portal on a man possessing child sex abuse materials. Detectives then began an investigation.

During the investigation, detectives quickly identified Lucas Mallard as a suspect and gathered evidence that he had several pieces of material containing child sex abuse visualizations.

Detectives, after speaking with the district attorney’s office, obtained arrest warrants on Mallard for 10 counts of felony third-degree sexual exploitation of a minor.
Mallard was arrested in Lexington on April 12. His bond was set at $5,000 and he is due in court on May 17.
